Colder temps and saturated grounds force WCS officials to cancel this Saturday’s season opener. With saturated grounds from this weeks storms, and cooler temps, the grounds at Wayne County Speedway have not had the opportunity to dry. “Last years season opener, we had to use track equipment to pull cars out of the parking lot, and we just cannot do that again this year”, stated Jason Flory. “Due to this weeks storms, we have discovered some infrastructure issues that have to be corrected before we can safely open the speedway”. Looking forward to next week, temps for the week look great and we look forward to opening the speedway Saturday April 15 when the FAST sprint car series makes their first visit to WCS for the 2023 race season, along with late models, modifieds, super stocks, and mini stocks!
From all of us at WCS, we hope you have a nice Easter Weekend!
